My first year in college the professor was teaching about the Big Bang Theory. I raised my hand and I don’t know where I got this, but I said to the professor, so your telling me if I take all the parts to a 747 jet and put a really big stick of dynamite underneath it and blow it up. The pieces will not only fall in to place as a 747 jet, but it will fly? To the professors credit, he said thats why its called a theory and you make an excellent point. Intelligent design points to an intelligent designer not a big explosion. Romans 1:19-20 tells us that God’s eternal power and divine nature can be seen through His creation. . The sun is a huge fire ball that never burns out. It’s 93 million miles away and we can feel the heat. If it were too close, we would burn up, if the sun was too far we would all freeze.
When lightning strikes it helps the Earth maintain electrical balance. The Earth is recharged by thunderstorms. When lightning slices through the atmosphere, it knocks electrons from the nitrogen atoms. The atoms are then free to combine with oxygen and hydrogen in the atmosphere forming nitrates. Rain carries this new compound to the earth enriching the soil with nitrates, which are the building blocks of proteins. Intelligent design points to an intelligent designer. Creation shows us that there is a God of “eternal power and divine nature.” We can’t know everything about Him through nature but we can deduce that whoever created all this must be a being of unimaginable greatness.
So your mission if you choose to accept it, is to stop and look around. How do you see and understand Gods eternal power and divine nature through His creation? My hope and prayer is that you will take a look around and want to know the Intelligent Designer. You can know God through His Son Jesus, place your faith in Him today you'll be glad you did.
