I was fresh out of High School, I had a good job so I bought myself a Jeep. A new Jeep, black with yellow and white racing stripes, a roll bar and BIG mudding tires. I couldn’t wait to take it out in the woods and try out the four-wheel drive. My friends and I had so much fun going mudding. Making trails going way out in the woods, there was a sense of freedom and nothing was off-limits. I was confident that when I put that Jeep in 4 Wheel Drive we were unstoppable. It was a blast! I had so much fun right up until I got stuck... in the mud. I can tell you from experience that Jeep’s are much more fun driving than pushing. Especially while they spin mud all over your clean clothes. It was humiliating having to go and find help. I had to admit that I couldn’t help myself. One night I got stuck and I walked through the woods covered from head to toe with mud. I found a couple of good ole boys with 4 Wheel drive trucks and told them I needed help. They laughed and told me don’t worry little buddy will get your little Jeep unstuck for ya. I have found that the times in my life when I need help, I have to humble my self. In Psalm 40 David says “he waited patiently for the Lord and the Lord heard his cry and lifted him up out of the mud and set him on a rock". Are you stuck? The Lord is mighty to save and He won’t laugh at you for getting yourself in a mess. If you want to get unstuck ask for help. “Humble your self in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up”. James 4:10
